Team Leader – Biotech (Manufacturing)

Reed Scientific are working with a leading manufacturer within the Biotech field in Cambridge. We are looking to recruit an experienced candidate within biotech manufacturing, with particular skills and experience within protein production. You will be a PhD level Biologist with industry experience within manufacturing, as well as experience within team management. Â
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage scheduling for the team and daily operations.
- Line management responsibility for the manufacturing team.
- Work closely with internal teams, in particular the Quality team to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Oversee the Process Development team to improve workflows, increase yields, enhance throughput, and reduce production costs.
- Integrate larger-scale equipment and troubleshoot existing processes.
Skills & experience:
- PhD or equivalent experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Strong background in protein expression, production, purification and characterization, with specific experience with AKTA.
- Extensive experience in recombinant protein expression, purification, and characterization.
- Experience working with a QMS such as ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 13485, with an understanding of quality assurance practices.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring team members.
