Primary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant and supportive primary school in Cambridge. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a primary school setting and a passion for supporting young learners. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the teacher in the delivery of engaging lessons and helping students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering daily lessons and activities.
- Support students with their learning, providing one-to-one and small group support.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
- Encourage and support children in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Help assess and monitor students' progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Support with administrative tasks as required by the teaching team.
About You:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a primary school.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both staff and pupils.
- Good understanding of the primary curriculum and the needs of young learners.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for making learning fun.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
