Job Title: Electrical Production Manager
Location: Cambridge
Contract: 12 months
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (07:15 to 15:45), Friday (07:15 to 12:15)
Pay: 35.00/hour (PAYE) or 47.02/hour (Umbrella)
Candidate must be able to provide 3 years' worth of employment references and must be eligible to obtain basic security clearance.
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Production Manager to lead our Electrical Installation and Test Engineers. You will oversee operations, ensuring quality standards, health & safety compliance, and on-time delivery to the master plan. You will also be responsible for resource management, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Electrical Installation and Test Engineering team.
- Ensure SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) metrics are met.
- Maintain compliance with the latest electrical installation legislation.
- Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee workload coordination, performance management, and team development.
- Ensure the right skill levels and resource allocation for production plans.
- Provide budget control and forecasting.
- Attend leadership meetings and support bid processes from a production perspective.
Key Requirements
Skills & Experience
- 10+ years in electrical manufacturing and assembly.
- Experience leading teams through strategic change.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation, inspection, and testing.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
- Ability to read engineering drawings is desirable.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- 18th Edition
- BS 7671 Electrical Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Electrical Installation Inspection & Testing qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification (preferred).
- Leadership qualification (CMI, LM) is advantageous.
