Director Of Quality | Cambridgeshire | £NEG
Exciting opportunity to lead the quality assurance and control functions within the UK manufacturing to high standards in alignment with business objectives.  Reporting to the UK Managing Director and US Quality Director, you will manage a team dedicated to continuous improvement, compliance, and quality management across all stages of the production process. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, managing quality audits, enhancing process improvements, and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements working closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and supply chain, to ensure the seamless delivery of quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and lead the quality strategy for the UK manufacturing facility
- Foster a culture of quality throughout the organisation, ensuring all team members deliver high-quality products
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and development opportunities to the UK quality team
- Ensure regulatory standards and compliance with UK and international quality ISO 9001
- Oversee the implementation of the QMS, audit-ready for internal & external inspections
- Manage risk assessments, regulatory reporting, and corrective actions
- Lead the quality control processes for the entire production lifecycle
- Establish, maintain, continuously improve product quality standards and operational processes
- Review, analyse and resolve quality issues and non-conformances
- Champion root cause analysis & corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product quality & efficiency
- Collaborate and share best practices with US, resolve issues, & ensure consistency in standards across regions
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership on quality metrics, performance, and improvement initiatives
- Provide timely reports to the Director, Quality (US) on (KPIs), audit findings, and any emerging quality concerns
- Oversee the selection, evaluation & performance management of suppliers adhere to quality standards
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve processes that affect product quality
- Provide support to other facilities in terms of UK supplier performance
- Develop and implement training programs ensuring that all employees adhere to standards and procedures
- Stay current with industry trends and ensure the team is equipped with the latest quality tools
- Help lead and drive the business expectations in culture throughout the business
Required Qualifications & Experience
You’ll have aBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management with Masters or similar Calibre with 10+ years proven track record in quality management in the manufacturing industry leading a quality team.  Possess an In-depth knowledge of QMS, methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), & industry regulations (ISO 9001, FDA) with strong leadership and management skills, ability to drive change and build high-performance teams.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence senior leadershipand familiarity with ERP and quality management software.
Desirable Skills Â
Exposure working in an international organization especially with US-based reporting lines with ideally certification in lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or Green Belt) or similar quality improvement methodologies with exposure with (APQP), (FMEA), and (SPC) working with new technology, robotics/automation and inline vision systems AM.
