We are very excited to be working with a highly successful marketing agency which is also the   publisher of cutting-edge consumer magazines. They are looking for an experienced magazine professional with fantastic writing and strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and the confidence to lead one of their monthly flagship publications to become the new Editor. The ideal person will have demonstrable magazine experience and may be an Editor or Deputy Editor looking to step up. This role offers hybrid working, with 3 days in their Cambridgeshire office and 2 days working from home.

What you will be doing

You’ll be responsible for all aspects of the publishing process, from page-planning to signing off the magazine for print. You’ll be pivotal in steering the creative and commercial direction of the magazine, generating ideas and identifying opportunities.

On any day you could be researching and writing articles, visiting new and existing clients with the sales team, commissioning freelancers, uploading content online, or liaising with design and subbing departments to deliver brilliant content. You will be responsible for the creation and organisation of this lovely, glossy magazine according to pre-agreed schedules and budgets and help the magazine stay at the forefront of the industry it represents.

The Person

The successful person will have demonstrable experience of working on magazines, ideally at Editor or Deputy/Assistant Editor level, with strong commercial acumen as the magazine relies on advertising revenue. You should be able to embrace the commercial needs of the title and have a stack of creative ideas that will help to push the magazine forward.  You will have great writing skills and a forward-thinking approach.
