Business Development Manager
£700 per day negotiable
One of our leading Aerospace clients based in Cambridge are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to drive business growth and manage complex deals in the UK and international Aerospace markets. They already support innovative solutions for MOD, Air Command, DE&S, and RAF as well as the commercial aerospace market and are keen to increase their share of the MRO market.
The role is being offered on a contract basis, across an initial 6 months as they implement a new strategy. We can offer hybrid working, but you would need to be open to travel to various client sites. The rate for this role is negotiable depending on experience, but we're looking around the £700 per day mark outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the business development director to implement business development strategies for MoD, Air Command, DE&S, and RAF maintenance contracts.
- Develop relationships with senior decision-making stakeholders within the MoD.
- Manage capture processes for large, complex deals.
- Generate investment business cases and oversee cost, schedule, and risk management.
- Lead contract negotiations, procurement processes, and strategic partnerships.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to teams, ensuring project delivery.
- Take responsibility for delivery of the task to deliverables to cost and schedule
- Report on progress and manage risks and opportunities.
Requirements
- Strong background in the UK MOD, Air Command, DE&S, RAF, and international defence markets.
- Be able to build and maintain relationships with decision making MoD stakeholders.
- Experience in defence marketing, sales, procurement, and capture management.
- Expertise in contracts and commercial negotiations within Aerospace or Defence.
- Proven success in developing strategies and driving business growth in defence.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage complex stakeholders, and deliver to schedule.
- Analytical, critical decision-making, and strategic thinking.
Desirable Experience
- Have existing relationships with Senior MoD stakeholders.
- Experience of Programme Management within Defence and Aerospace MRO.
- Experience of procurement within MoD or the wider armed forces.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
