SOLIDX are a recently established UK based SOLIDWORKS Reseller.

Founded by industry experienced SOLIDWORKS Sales and Support people to bring a fresh approach to the UK SOLIDWORKS market with a focus on transparency and customer service.

Having had tremendous success and growth in our first year of trading, we are looking to add an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to our team to help drive our new business and develop our customer base, with our industry leading SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE Engineering Software solutions.

The role on offer is predominantly a new business role but with a win & retain model, providing a stable foundation for earnings as customers are converted and developed over time.

You will also be able to work with the SOLIDWORKS Start Up scheme, where we help the UK newest and most innovative companies enhance their design process with our cutting-edge software.

Job Details

  • Salary of circa £35K, depending on experience
  • Uncapped commission - calculated from gross margin of sales
  • Location – Hybrid. Predominately home based (UK) with requirement to travel to head office in Cambridge from time to time.
  • 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays. 3 Days reserved for Christmas Break

Job specification

  • New Business development. Identify & engage with relevant business that could benefit from our solutions. Uncover their challenges and demonstrate how we can help overcome them. Identify the right mix of products they require, prepare proposals and with the help of our inhouse applications engineers, demonstrate the correct solutions. Negotiate and close deals.
  • Lead nurturing. Follow up with inbound leads, transitioning them through needs discovery, proof of solutions and closing of deal
  • Start Up Program. Find and engage with innovative new companies that fit the profile for the SOLIDWORKS Start Up program. Onboard them to the program, aligning our software to their challenges. Nurture them through the process, ensuring they become successful with the tools we provide.
  • Customer relationships. Develop and nurture good working relationships with your customers. Understand their businesses and the challenges they face. Identify additional areas of opportunity where we can help them with our wider portfolio of SOLIDWORKS software products, training and consultancy.
  • Creating and maintaining relationships within customers at multiple levels in multiple departments

The Person

  • Experience in New Business sales is essential
  • Internally driven with a competitive mindset
  • Experience of SOLIDWORKS or similar 3D CAD Software would be advantageous
  • Engineering background or experience selling into the UK Design & Manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
  • Effective time management. You will be responsible for your own schedule and expected to book calls with customers, arrange visits and carry out any and all activities required to meet your targets.

  • Full UK driving license and access to car for customer visits.
