Role: Multi-Skilled Engineer

Purpose of the role

To ensure the Engineering department provides a high level of service to the business by delivering planned maintenance, service and reactive repair work for all electro-mechanical equipment across Group Print and Operations locations. To recommend and implement equipment and process improvements to improve production efficiency and reliability.

Accountability

To adhere to health and safety standards in all activities undertaken by the role holder and promote safe working practice.

Maintenance Activities:

To deliver periodic and condition based preventative maintenance schedules for all electro-mechanical equipment to maintain the highest levels of reliability and maximise efficiency. Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of overall maintenance schedule and strategy.

To conduct 1st Level reactive service and repair work for all equipment, diagnosing issues in a prompt and efficient manner, utilising OEM/third party support where required.

Other Duties:

Work with the operations teams to offer engineering expertise in the design and delivery of improvements in relation to the continuous improvement of electro-mechanical equipment, utilising third party support where necessary.

To undertake risk assessments for all electro-mechanical equipment, in liaison with the Engineering Manager and with the Group Health and Safety Manager where appropriate.

To maintain relevant professional competence including undertaking training and development as appropriate both on and off site. This may require attending manufacturers or training providers premises in the UK and overseas.
