Lecturer in Supported LearningReed Further Education is supporting a college in Cambridge in their search for a dedicated Lecturer in Supported Learning. This temporary position is to cover 8 hours of teaching per week across a timetable focused on Vocational Archway, starting immediately.

Annual Salary: £22-£25 per hourLocation: CambridgeJob Type: Temporary (Cover for sick leave, ASAP until 2nd April, potential extension)

Teaching Schedule:

  • Tuesday: 10:00 - 12:30
  • Thursday: 9:00 - 11:20 and 14:30 - 15:45
  • Friday: 9:00 - 10:00 and 10:20 - 11:20

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as course team lead and tutor for students with moderate entry-level learning needs on the Introduction to Creative Industries course.
  • Design and implement schemes of work, learning resources, and assessment schedules.
  • Support the department’s internal Quality Assurance processes.
  • Teach English and maths at Entry and Level 1, preparing students for functional skills qualifications.
  • Identify and address the learning support needs of students, including adjustments for disabilities and barriers to learning.
  • Track and monitor students' EHCP targets and support the tracking of RARPA processes.
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials in collaboration with mentoring staff.
  • Direct Learning Support Mentors (LSMs) to ensure impactful and rapid progress.
  • Produce written reports for EHCP meetings and participate in cover rota.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) or equivalent.
  • Level 4+ in a Creative subject or Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) L5 – L7, or a commitment to working towards these qualifications.
  • L3 or equivalent in a specialist skills area, preferably a creative subject.
  • L2/GCSE in English and maths.
  • Substantial experience in supporting learning, mentoring, or tutorial roles.
  • Experience in teaching/tutoring life skills, work skills, entry-level maths, and English.
  • Special Circumstances:
  • Prepared to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

Must be able to travel independently and work in the community if required.
