About the Role

We are seeking an empathetic and skilled Teaching Assistant to support a student on a 1-2-1 basis who has complex needs. You will work closely with teachers to create a positive, nurturing environment that promotes the students emotional well-being, resilience, and academic engagement. You'll provide tailored assistance to help the student manage their emotions and behaviours, empowering them to achieve personal and academic growth. You will be patient, understanding, and dedicated to supporting their holistic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the student on a 1-2-1 basis adapting learning activities to meet their unique social and emotional needs.
  • Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and support the student in developing positive coping skills.
  • Promote a calm and safe classroom environment that encourages trust and mutual respect.
  • Monitor and record student progress, sharing insights with the teaching team and parents as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create consistent support strategies and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a teaching assistant on a 1-2-1 basis with a child who has complex needs.
  • The ability to drive is desired but not essential.
