Reed Finance are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance function and support the Director of Finance. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within our organisation.

Finance Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small finance team, ensuring timely reporting for monthly management accounts and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and improve financial systems to enhance process effectiveness across the organisation.
  • Manage and maintain accounting and purchase ordering systems.
  • Oversee the implementation of financial systems, providing training as needed.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for the organisation and detailed accounts for specific operations.
  • Handle quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Organise financial documentation for annual external audits.
  • Process and reconcile monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with HMRC and pension providers.
  • Oversee financial transactions, ensuring compliance with charity regulations and SORP.
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial service providers to optimise returns on balances and investments.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and mid-year budget reviews.
  • Define clear objectives for the finance team and mentor staff to drive development.
  • Ensure cross-training for adequate coverage during absences.
  • Conduct annual Performance Development Reviews and identify training opportunities.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key staff, suppliers, and partners.
  • Act as contract manager for finance systems and suppliers.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with financial processes and assist in policy reviews.

Finance Manager Qualifications:

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
  • Previous experience in the charity or non-profit sector is highly desirable.
