The Job Role Details:

We are looking for a skilled Mechanic / Fitter to set up and manage a new workshop, overseeing its operation and growth to keep machines in top condition and ensure we stay ahead of the game.

Key Responsibilities:
You will

  • Maintain & repair farm equipment: Inspect, maintain, and repair farm machinery like tractors, harvesters, and ploughs to keep them running smoothly.
  • Engine & Transmission Repairs: Overhaul engines and transmissions, replacing faulty parts like belts, hoses, and filters.
  • Fabrication & Welding: Weld and modify parts, creating custom solutions for farm equipment when needed.
  • Hydraulic System Maintenance: Repair and maintain hydraulic systems essential for machinery operation.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and prepare equipment for busy seasons like planting or harvest.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of tools, parts, and equipment, ensuring everything is well-maintained and ready for use.
  • Emergency Repairs: Provide quick fixes during critical times to minimise downtime.
  • Collaboration & Support: Work with farm managers and staff to ensure equipment meets operational needs and is safe to use.

  • Experienced Mechanic/Fitter with hands-on expertise in farm machinery, equipment, or vehicle repair.
  • A can-do attitude and a proactive approach to getting the job done right.
  • Someone ready to set up a new workshop, take ownership of its day-to-day operation, and drive its growth.
  • A problem-solver who takes pride in maintaining machines and ensuring they are operational for the work we need to get done.
  • Strong management skills or the ambition to develop them, as you'll be responsible for the growth and efficiency of the workshop.
