We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Finance to play a key leadership role in the overall management of a prominent Kent-based charity. This pivotal position will provide strategic direction and oversee financial planning, compliance, IT, and risk management to ensure the organisation's long-term sustainability and effectiveness.

Key Areas of Focus:

• Strategy Development - Lead the financial strategy, aligning it with the charity's goals to drive strategic aims and objectives
• Leadership and Management - Provide strong leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
• Financial Control and Reporting - Ensure robust financial systems, accurate reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Budgeting and Planning - Oversee budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Financial Accounting - Maintain strong financial governance, ensuring transparency and adherence to best practices.
• Compliance, IT, and Risk Management - Oversee regulatory compliance, risk mitigation strategies, and IT systems to support operational efficiency.
• Best Practice and Continuous Improvement - Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities for innovation and process enhancements.

The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking finance professional with a strong strategic mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will work collaboratively across the organisation to embed change, enhance financial sustainability, and develop efficient and effective ways of working. Ideally, your background of experience will lie from within the charitable sector.
