We are working with a reputable manufacturer in Kent who are looking to hire a Design Engineer with moulding experience.

This is a 6 month fixed term contract due to start in October 2024.

Our client supplies electronics products into the aerospace, defence and military industries.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide fast turnaround corrective actions for Process/Quality issues affecting production, and or customer concerns within the mould shop.
  • Ensure corrective actions meet quality standards, are documented, released back to production and produce lasting consistent excellence of part quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse existing moulding process/ process tooling to define areas for improvement. Define perform and document trials and resulting process improvements. Monitor enhanced processes to ensure improvements are maintained.
  • Support validation, documentation and implementation to production status of both new mould tools and processes.
  • Advise on alternatives for obsolete or hard to obtain materials

Skills / Experience required:

Available to start in October 2024

Knowledge and experience of modern plastic and rubber injection moulding processes

Design Engineering experience 

Experience implementing drawing updates, reviewing tooling and tooling design to resolve ongoing issues.
