The Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of school construction projects from inception to completion. This position, located in Canterbury, offers a dynamic work environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of critical educational facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for school projects.
- Monitor project costs, providing regular financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Oversee procurement processes, including negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress and address financial challenges.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in managing school projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from inception to completion.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts and procurement procedures.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
