We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a prestigious Tier 1 Main Contractor based in Canterbury.This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong quantity surveying background in the construction sector who is looking to take on a senior role.

The Role: You will lead a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of multiple construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any financial issues that arise.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee the complete quantity surveying process for multiple projects, from initial cost estimates to final accounts.
  • Manage and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support for effective project delivery.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adheringto project timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and project success.
  • Manage procurement processes and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in managing teams and preferably delivering projects in the education sector.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
