The Role
The company are recruiting support workers to provide 24/7 1:1 support to a 26-year-old man with an acquired brain injury and Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy living in his own home, alongside his family.
They are looking to fill a rota of 12 and 24-hour shifts, a mixture of days and sleeping nights, on a fixed 2-week rolling rota that includes weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
The client very much enjoys getting out into the community, video games, baking, feeding his gold fish, visiting the zoo, and going to cinema. He enjoys social participation and talking to people. He requires 1:1 support for hoisting, for all personal care and transitions. He is a wheelchair user with limited verbal communication, instead using an electronic VOCA system to communicate or communication book. Suprapubic Catheter and PEG in situ. He requires support with all aspects of daily living including preparation of meals, domestic tasks, budgeting, and engagement in social & leisure interests. He has an excellent sense of humour and is very appreciative of his support team (always happy for a bit of banter).
