Junior Test Engineer

Junior Test Engineer - The Role:

  • To test new machines in the workshop once the initial setup and commissioning has taken place, to drive the machine extensively testing all functions and features
  • To document Factory Acceptance tests and to liaise with the workshop and project engineers
  • Use test sheets and protocols for testing all aspects of the manipulator operation following workshop commissioning
  • FAT and pre-shipping inspection
  • Ensuring photos are taken of completed machines for our records
  • To be involved with and to support the work of the electrical project engineers as required
  • Label and marker manufacture for the workshop team
  • Working with R&D lead on small projects, designing, building, and testing rigs and assemblies as required
  • Working with Workshop team on production issues and small projects
  • Workshop Design Office liaison
  • Being the “hands on” person responsible for IT and phone hardware
  • Working with remote working IT specialist as required to install software, set up PC’s install screens and source hardware for the office and workshop computers

Junior Test Engineer - The Person:

  • The ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • The ability to work to fixed deadlines with regards to testing completed machines in the workshop
  • Good IT knowledge and networking skills would be useful
  • Good practical and hands on experience
  • Full UK/EU driving license
  • Available to travel worldwide if required
  • Previous experience of Eplan electrical CAD software would be an advantage

Located in Glasgow, this role would be commutable from Hamilton, East Kilbride, Larkhall, Paisley, Bellshill and surrounding areas.

Role would be suitable for Engineers with at least 1 years’ experience in an Electrical Test Engineer, Panel Wirer or similar role.
