Would you like to work for a leading manufacturing company who are evolving in the recycling industry? This business is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Due to rapid growth, they are partnering with me exclusively in recruiting an experienced Inventory Manager.
Within this role you will oversee the internal supply chain, managing relationships with suppliers in both the UK and China to ensure the efficient and cost-effective handling of materials.
The role is responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory within strict minimum and maximum levels, issuing materials through a team, receiving goods, and conducting accurate month-end stock takes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in supply chain optimisation, inventory control, and team leadership.
Snapshot of duties and responsibilities
- Monitor stock levels to guarantee uninterrupted supply of materials while minimising overstock and waste.
- Implement robust inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to regular budgeting and forecasting cycles.
- Manage the internal supply chain, working with UK and China suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Build strong supplier relationships and resolve any supply chain issues promptly.
- Oversee the flow of materials to meet operational demands.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Supervise the team responsible for issuing materials to production and other departments.
- Address any discrepancies or quality issues with received goods.
- Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies swiftly and effectively.
- Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes and inventory management.
- Implement initiatives to reduce costs, minimise risks, and optimise efficiency.
- Stay updated on best practices and industry trends to enhance operations.
- Assist in shaping revisions to applicable policies and bring to line manager's attention any control deficiencies or risks.
Skills, qualifications, and experience required.
- Professional certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CIPS)
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP software.
- Proven experience in inventory management, supply chain coordination, and inventory control.
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing a team.
