I am seeking a Financial Accountant to join adynamic Finance team at the Head Office in Cardiff.

This is a pivotal role within the finance department. You'll play a key part in ensuring our financial data is accurate and transparent, supporting financial and operational reporting, analysis, and planning. This role involves partnering with various departments and acting as a key gatekeeper for our balance sheet and profit and loss control.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines
  • Oversight of balance sheet reconciliation and control
  • Management of stock ledger movements, ensuring accurate posting and timely reporting of stocktake results
  • Line management of a team of three (including appraisals and training)
  • Preparation of balance sheet and funds flow reports, including budgets and forecasts
  • Ongoing evaluation of financial accounting systems and ledger processes
  • Representation of Financial Accounts at cost meetings with various departments
  • Active participation in various panels and projects within the Finance Department
  • Analysis of working capital
  • Production of aged debt reports and other financial reports
  • Preparation/review of VAT returns and other statutory returns and analysis
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in an Accountant role
  • Management experience preferred but not essential
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
