We are currently working exclusively with a successful financial services business who wish to appoint Financial Controller. Reporting to Head of Finance this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business as Financial Controller. The role of Financial Controller will provide accurate and timely production of monthly financial and management information to ExCo and the Board. You will provide financial expertise to support the achievement of the business plan and overall strategic objectives.

Further responsibilities include…

  • Oversee, review and prepare the monthly management of accounts and undertake the balance sheet reconciliation review.
  • Oversee and prepare the production of the annual financial statements
  • Work closely with professional tax advisers to ensure all returns are completed accurately and on time
  • Writing ExCo and Board reports and papers covering all relevant topics
  • Manage the accounts payable process; working with & supervising Finance Assistant
  • Oversee and prepare the regulatory FINREP return
  • Assist in the production of timely and accurate budget and forecasts

The Person:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) ideally with 2/3 years PQE. Could also suit a individual with a Big 4 practice background seeking their first industry appointment
  • Financial Services/Banking sector experience preferred but other professional services sectors will be considered
  • Experience of running year-end financial audit process
  • Experience of IFRS reporting
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems, sometimes with a degree of ambiguity.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
