Robert Half are recruiting a Financial Controller to join a dynamic owner-managed business currently undergoing acquisition by a major UK enterprise. With a turnover of approximately £20 million and sites across the UK, this is an exciting phase of growth and integration into a larger group structure.

The Role: The Financial Controller will act as the senior finance lead within this newly acquired business, reporting directly to the Head of Finance and the Group organisation. This role involves managing completion accounts for the acquisition and transitioning into day-to-day financial operations.

This position is suited to individuals seeking either a short-term interim role or a longer-term opportunity with the potential for a permanent position.

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum

Location: Cardiff (initially five days on-site, with flexibility over time)

Contract: Temp to Perm

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing completion accounts for the acquisition.
  • Producing monthly management accounts.
  • Reporting financial data to the Group.
  • Integrating local reporting processes into the Group system.
  • Overseeing transactional finance operations.
  • Developing and maintaining financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Leading financial accounting activities and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Experience and Skills:

  • Professional Qualifications: CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or QBE candidates will be considered.
  • Experience: Proven track record in financial management, including reporting and compliance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Mindset: A hands-on approach with the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience managing finance staff and communicating effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
