As the successful candidate you will demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, as well as the traits of tenacity, dynamism and the desire to be the best you can be in your role as a senior finance lead. You will enjoy being responsible for day-to-day operations and eager to contribute strategically to the overall business plan and organisational objectives. You will manage a talented and capable finance team.Key to success will be your strength in stakeholder management, both internally across the business and externally. You will enjoy ensuring your teams development is at the forefront of your priorities and get satisfaction from watching them progress.

The job

  • Oversee and ensure smooth running of day-to-day finance operations including managing a multi-function finance team
  • Collaborate on and support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning
  • Navigate financial analysis to monitor performance, identify risks, and drive consistency
  • Provide financial reports and insights to senior management to inform strategic decision-making
  • Drive financial performance through insightful analysis, identify opportunities and improve bottom line ensuring consistent financial practices
  • Manage cashflow to ensure the company maintains financial stability.
  • Oversee treasury functions, to include cash management, banking, and debt financing
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting (internal and external), including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of strong internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Oversee compliance with taxation requirements, corporate governance, and other regulatory matters
  • Ensure the company’s internal controls are robust and fit for purpose
  • Work effectively with external auditors
  • Manage, mentor, train and develop the finance team, ensuring they have the necessary skills, training, and resources to perform effectively
  • Collaborate with various departments to evaluate financial impacts of business decisions and provide financial insight to support strategy.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of materials for board meetings and annual report
  • Oversee payroll function

The person specification

  • Qualified accountant ACA/CIMA/ACCA with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior finance management position
  • Experience of working for an organisation of £50+ million turnover
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a finance team.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Broad experience of financial software systems
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical with experience in analysing complex financial data
  • Strong communicator with confidence in your ability to work at a strategic level
  • Excellent decision-making ability
  • Strong cashflow management experience
  • Experience of working with investors is of interest
  • Experience of leading on year-end procedures.
