One of our clients, an early stage tech business that has recently received a significant investment is looking to hire a Financial Controller on a part time basis, 3 days a week.Reporting to the CEO they will be responsible for implementing the companies accounting systems & procedures while playing a crucial part in shaping the company’s financial strategy and growth.

  • Financial Strategy Development:Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute the company's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Internal Financial Systems: Develop and supervise the implementation of robust internal financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable Management: Oversee the management of accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to drive informed decision-making, including cost-reduction initiatives, revenue optimization, and investment opportunities.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, working closely with departments to establish realistic budgets and provide ongoing monitoring and variance analysis. Develop accurate financial forecasts.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Report to the board on progress and help to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the business.

Requirements:

  • A recognized accountancy qualification such as ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), or CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) will be essential
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present financial information to stakeholders.
