We are working on behalf on our client to find a temporary Financial Accountant.
The Financial Accountant will play a vital role in supporting corporate functions. In this position, you will manage the accounting and financial activities including the in-house bank, internal factoring entities, and holding companies. Your responsibilities will include recommending and implementing best accounting practices while overseeing the accounting operations of the business. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with the Assistant Treasurer and gain exposure to the broader organisation, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the representative for UK corporate entities and pension scheme companies.
- Prepare annual statutory accounts for multiple UK entities.
- Submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple UK companies.
- Handle inter company recharges and reporting.
- Manage notional cash pool operations, including legal documentation, monthly postings, and reconciliations.
- Oversee monthly treasury management accounting and perform full Balance Sheet reconciliations across multiple currencies.
- Administer inter company loans, including legal documentation, static data management, withholding tax calculations, and quarterly returns.
- Prepare and distribute withholding tax certificates and manage applications for double taxation treaties with UK tax authorities for inter company loans, along with residency certificate applications.
- Act as the primary point of contact for UK external statutory auditors.
- Collect data for tax computations, including quarterly corporation tax and annual transfer pricing reviews.
- Complete KYC documentation with banking counterparts.
- Document and maintain processes and procedures.
Key Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of financial accounting experience, ideally with exposure to corporate entities .
- Experience in in-house bank or treasury accounting is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with a talent for presenting and reporting financial data.
- A skilled problem solver with a keen attention to detail.
- Competence in preparing VAT returns.
- Strong understanding of company secretarial duties and UK company law.
- Flexible, resilient, and able to work independently while meeting tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of withholding tax regulations.
- Familiarity with UK and US GAAP accounting rules.
