Part-Time Purchase Ledger Clerk (Office-Based)

Temporary Contract for approximately 8 Months

Hourly rate £13.00 - £14.35 Per Hour DOE  

My client, a reputable and highly regarded organisation are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on a part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a flexible role within school hours (Monday to Friday, 9:30 am - 2:30 pm).

Role Overview: You will play a key part in managing the purchase ledger function, handling invoice processing, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. Your organisational skills and accuracy will help keep the finance operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing 200-350 purchase ledger invoices per month
  • Matching, checking, and coding invoices
  • Creating and reviewing outstanding purchase orders
  • Processing staff expenses, checking receipts, VAT claimed, and approvals
  • Managing company credit cards, ensuring receipts and VAT approvals
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Downloading month-end bank statements and completing a cash template
  • Setting up new supplier accounts, maintaining existing details, and verifying bank details
  • Managing the shared accounts email inbox
  • Liaising with suppliers by phone and email regarding payments and queries

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Confident handling phone queries professionally
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage your own workload
  • Team player with the ability to build strong working relationships
