Sales Manager (Engineering / Manufacturing)

Employment type: Permanent, full- time

Location: Cardiff

Hours: 8.30am to 5pm- Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 1pm- Friday

Salary: £40,000-£50,000 p.a. depending on experience + profit related bonus + company benefits

Our client, a leading manufacturer of bespoke electro-mechanical industrial products, is currently seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join their team in Cardiff. With a well-established presence and an outstanding reputation in their field, our client is renowned for delivering high-quality, tailored solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a Sales Manager with a strong background in engineering or production to contribute to a thriving organization at the forefront of its field.

The Role

As Sales Manager, you will head up my client's Sales department. You will be responsible for coordinating and driving the team to fulfil potential. You will report into the Director of the business where you will be responsible for the following:

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales plans to meet or exceed business objectives.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, markets, and clients to drive revenue growth.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and collective targets.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular sales performance reports to senior management.
  • Negotiations: Lead contract negotiations with clients to secure profitable agreements.
  • Collaboration: Working with the Engineering department to discuss the feasibility of customer requirements and designs

Experience/ Skills Required

  • Previous experience as a Sales Manager is essential
  • Experience within an engineering / manufacturing environment would be preferred
  • Previous experience selling electro-mechanical, heating and ventilation, electrical, electronic products would be highly desirable
  • Engineering qualifications are desirable
  • Full UK Driving Licence
