Are you the right person for the job?

  • You should already be ACA or ACCA qualified and due to the technical nature of accounting standards and tax legislation, your experience will need to have been mostly gained in UK public practice so that you can prepare and finalise accounts with minimum supervision
  • Exceptional candidates who are qualified by many years of experience may also be considered
  • You will need to be an all-rounder with clear and confident communication skills
  • You will already be familiar with Sage and Xero book-keeping software, as well as accounts and tax return preparation software
  • A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle will be useful for occasional trips to client premises

What will your role look like?

  • Preparation of company statutory accounts and tax returns
  • Preparation of unincorporated accounts and tax returns
  • Liaising with clients via email, telephone and face-to-face
  • Online filing of tax returns with HMRC and accounts with Companies House
  • Working as part of an audit team
  • Managing your own clients and work schedule
  • Supervising junior staff and reviewing their work
  • Occasional book-keeping and filing of VAT returns
