Role Overview
Reed have partnered with an organisation in the FMCG space who are on the lookout for a Commercial Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This organisation has experienced some exciting, and impressive growth over the past 6 years and have grown in turnover by £25million.
The role aims to increase the company's market share and profitability by expanding business with existing customers and securing new business in current and new channels. This involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, coordinating with teams like NPD and Finance, and maintaining high standards of service for existing customers. Building strong relationships with Buyers to enhance customer satisfaction is also a critical part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve Commercial Objectives: Establish clear plans, allocate resources, and review performance to meet commercial goals.
- Business Development: Take ownership of developing new business and growing existing business.
- Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement strategies that align with company goals, maximize profitability, and drive sustainable growth.
- Client and Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including finance and operations, to execute commercial initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Seek ways to improve commercial processes and increase efficiency.
- Key Account & Commercial Management:
- Hold weekly meetings with cross-functional teams to update on customer activity.
- Manage critical paths for NPD and new launches.
- Communicate with customers to address service issues, working with the site team to provide solutions.
- Liaise with the site team to provide product samples and information to customers.
- Conduct periodic sales meetings with customers to discuss performance and identify opportunities.
- Complete commercial details on new line forms and ensure timely documentation.
- Conduct regular store checks and update stakeholders on RSPs, weights, and new lines.
- Follow instructions from the Group Director on selling off certain products as needed.
