We are currently seeking an experience Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to work on a dedicated account, based in Cardiff. This role would suit any individual with experience of cost management or quantity surveying with infrastructure and / or civils experience from a consultative or contracting perspective. A great opportunity for somebody who is looking to grow with a new regional department and has ambitions to reach the very top.

Our National Commissions team are dedicated to providing professional services to key clients that have large change programmes to manage in the UK and worldwide. The team operate out of our London office with a nationally based resource team.

We are a sector focused business actively operating and investing in Commercial, Residential, Education, Sports, Nuclear and Retail clients and projects. Project Managers work in close contact with the client, advising them on the time, quality and cost. 

Overview of Role: 

We are currently recruiting a Cost Manager to join our National Commissions team to work on various commissions in the South Wales region. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated candidate to join and strengthen our team. 

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive candidate to take responsibility for providing all core Quantity Surveying services on a number of interesting projects, for a number of clients across a variety of sectors. 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be an integral part of a team that is accountable for the commercial and contractual performance of a project 
  • To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances 
  • To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures 
  • Comply with established commercial/procurement/ contractual strategies 

Person Specification: 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.  

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline  
  • Strong technical delivery experience 
  • Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner  
  • Strong Feasibility and cost planning experience  
  • Pre and Post contract experience of a range of schemes 
  • Experience of providing procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services 
  • Previously employed by a consultancy
  • Stakeholder management with a clear focus on developing client accounts  
  • A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
