Title: Assessor
Salary: 23,890 to 28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Cardiff
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Assessor to join our team. The primary goal is to deliver high-quality training and assessment to learners, increasing positive outcomes and achieving continuous improvement in company performance and quality provision. This role involves travelling to workplaces within a regional area to support learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the Internal Verification (IV) system is maintained according to the code of practice.
- Maintain Award Body records in line with standards and ensure positive outcomes are evidenced.
- Monitor and ensure timely and accurate completion of trainee documentation to reflect true learning progress.
Training and Assessing:
- Deliver training programmes to assigned learners, maintaining the highest standards.
- Complete Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and map out tailored learning routes.
- Visit learners in their workplaces for assessments and provide support as needed.
- Reference and mark workplace evidence to meet Key Skill requirements.
- Maintain accurate attendance and contact hour records in line with audit requirements.
- Develop and update course material to meet delivery requirements.
- Facilitate tests and ensure compliance with awarding body requirements.
- Support learners requiring additional help and work within the company's lone working policy.
General Duties:
- Ensure security of company assets and adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Comply with safeguarding policies, Equal Opportunities legislation, and Health and Safety requirements.
- Attend relevant training and personal development programmes.
What We're Looking For:
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, or equivalent).
- Occupational experience in the delivery route(s).
- Experience delivering training and assessment.
- Familiarity with Award Body practices and ESW requirements.
- IT literate with strong organisational and communication skills.
- Full driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, Prevent, and public-funded training schemes.
Desirable Criteria:
- CAVA, TAQA, or City & Guilds 9300 Level 2 qualifications.
- Experience with Apprenticeship delivery and Essential Skills Wales (ESW).
- Fluency in Welsh.
