We are recruiting a Care Assistant on behalf of our client, a young Uni student, studying Media and Communications at the Cardiff University.

Start date: End of January 2025

Position: Live-in - 7 days on / 7 days off

Location: Cardiff

Free accommodation whilst on shift

Pay rate: £140 per day / £980 per week worked

About Our Client:

- Studying Media and Communications at the Cardiff University.Lives with Cerebral Palsy- Full-time wheelchair user, requires support with every aspect of his life- Enjoys gigs, listening to music and watching TV- He is making the most of his University experience - Likes to participate in a range of different sports and activities- Has recently started accessible Skiing and Surfing

"I will need help doing many physical activities that normal people take for granted such as dressing and showering. Standing up and walking is another one of my big problems as I have not been able to do it since birth or eviction day as me and my sister call it. You will also need to assist me in my daily life as I know that the next few months are going to be a very steep learning curve as I have never been away from home for longer than two days without my sisters present. I I like to be fully independent where possible however you will need to assist me in some elements as I either have difficulty achieving these tasks or have never done them before so I would like help.

I am currently at Cardiff University studying Media and Communications, so it would be ideal if you were interested in the same kind of thing. I'd like to use my degree to learn more about the media and hopefully be a pioneer for people like me as there are not that many of us in the media. And no I'm not studying the media just because I want to be famous. I want to study media just because I enjoy watching TV really and would like to have someone who shares the same hobby. I also enjoy going to gigs and listening to music which is something that I do also when I am chilling out after a long day doing an activity such as uni. But as much as I enjoyed chilling out while I'm at uni I would like to be able to take part in a range of different sports and Activities while I'm in uni as this will hopefully give me more independence and freeeeedom ."

This is also a flat mate type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you'd expect a university student to be doing.

Our client is looking for like-minded individuals to assist him with:

- Personal Care - Bathing, Dressing, Toileting - Health Care - Administrating medicine, using medical equipment - Help around the university- Social Support - Accompanying medical appointments - Daily Living- Housekeeping / Domestic duties

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided. Welsh speaking applicants would be ideal.

About You

You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care therefore full training in his particular needs is provided.

You will need:

- To be physically fit, active and interested in sports- To be organised and reliable- To be patient and professional- To have a good sense of humour- A mature and responsible attitude- Good communication skills- To be fluent in English.- To have a positive look on life- To be able to drive (Desirable) - Welsh speaking(Desirable)
