Venn Group are currently working with an NHS organisation in South Wales, who are seeking a General Manager to provide effective strategic and operational management of the directorate, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient services.

Main duties of the job:

  • Be a key member of the Directorate leadership team, working with clinical and managerial colleagues to manage the design and delivery of clinical/non-clinical services within the Directorate
  • Contribute to the development of the strategic direction for specified areas in line with the Directorate and Clinical Board’s overall strategy and improvement programme
  • Identify opportunities for clinical innovation and modernisation
  • Delivery of all operational performance targets, waiting list and financial management, bed utilisation and management
  • Support the Directorate Manager / Service Managers and Clinical Leads in the development of investment business cases and in the implementation of agreed capital projects
  • Manage non-clinical staff within the Directorate in line with employment policies providing effective, professional, managerial leadership and co-ordination for staff

Essential Skills:

  • Significant experience working in general management within the NHS, including experience of managing staff and resources above £5m
  • Recognised Management qualification
