Temporary Lecturer Position in Essential Skills
Are you passionate about education and eager to make a difference in learners' lives? Reed Further Education is seeking a dedicated Lecturer to join a dynamic team, delivering essential skills classes on a temporary basis until 16th May 2025.
Role Overview:
As a Lecturer, you will teach a range of courses and levels, supporting learners to achieve successful outcomes. You will set high expectations and contribute to an aspirational learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
- Plan effectively to meet diverse learner needs.
- Refer learners for specialist support when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance System.
- Implement effective classroom management.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Act as a course tutor, monitoring and controlling course quality.
- Contributing to a High-Performing College:
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour, challenging learners when needed.
- Set and monitor individual learner targets.
- Encourage sound study habits and clarify assessment processes.
- Provide structured, detailed feedback within agreed timescales.
- Record learner assessment results accurately.
- Use digital learning environments to enhance delivery.
- Undertake internal verification duties.
Key Relationships:
- Prioritise workload with your line manager.
- Collaborate with course team members to develop courses.
- Work with teaching and learning mentors to maintain high standards.
- Participate in open days, parents’ evenings, and liaise with stakeholders.
Personal Specification:
- Qualification in the subject area.
- GCSE grades C or above (or equivalent).
- Teaching or assessing qualification desirable.
- Welsh language level 2 to 5.
- EWC Registered.
