Reed Further Education are working with a college who are seeking two dedicated lecturers in Public Services. These roles are ideal for individuals with a background in public services such as police, fire service, paramedics, or armed services and who possess a relevant degree and teaching qualification.

Job Title: Public Service Lecturer

Position: Part-time, 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday and 14 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday

Role type: Temporary Ongoing

Location: Nantgarw

Salary: £27p/h to £35p/h including holiday pay

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Course Planning and Delivery: Responsible for planning, implementing, and delivering public services programs, including creating lesson plans, delivering lectures, and conducting practical sessions.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess students' work, provide constructive feedback, and track their progress.
  • Student Support: Act as a personal tutor, support students' individual learning plans, and liaise with parents and other educators.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Teaching Qualification: Must have a teaching qualification, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Cert Ed, DET or equivalent.
  • Subject Expertise: Experience in public services, such as the police, fire service, paramedics, or armed services, is highly valued.
  • Organisational Skills: Must be well-organized and proficient in administrative tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues is essential.
  • Motivation and Enthusiasm: A desire to see students succeed and the ability to inspire them.
