Overview:

To provide strategic and transactional management of Engineering team and processes

The Position

  • Provide strategic direction for maintenance activity on site
  • Ensure sustained performance of equipment and facilities on site focusing on cost reduction and equipment downtime
  • Manage, motivate and lead the Engineering Team
  • Refrigeration, Steam Boilers, Compressors, equipment and Waste-Water management experience
  • Optimise operational performance ensuring adherence to company and customer standards
  • Management of Engineering Labour and Maintenance budget as well as ad hoc CAPEX projects
  • Control of site stores and budgets
  • Coach and develop others to build capacity and develop succession
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain awareness of new techniques and processes.
  • Work with all members of the management team
  • You will be responsible for the training & development of the engineering team and demonstrate knowledge of continuous improvement

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in a similar position (food manufacturing is essential)
  • Qualified engineer - ideally chartered
  • Leadership and management experience essential
  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with production
  • PPM Systems and project management experience
  • Working knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Experience of budgetary management
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexibility required, the site is 24/7 and therefore could be required to work outside of hours on occasion
