Accounts & Payroll Officer

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 (DOE) plus Benefits

Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be partnering with a growing service sector organisation based on the outskirts of Cardiff. Our client is on the lookout for an experienced Accounts & Payroll Officer to join their friendly and busy accounts team.

The role will be office based, Monday - Friday and you will be required to report into the Group Financial Director on a day-to-day basis. Ideally, they are seeking an individual that is used to working in a fast-paced environment and someone that is not afraid to roll up sleeves and help with anything that is thrown at them. You will be based in a small accounts team, working in open plan offices, that will offer you a valuable insight into their world.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly and Weekly Payroll, inputting timesheets for around approximately 100, processing holiday pay, SSP, SMP, auto enrolment and P45s etc
  • Auditing and compliance of all their internal/external clients/candidates
  • HMRC submissions and payments
  • Assisting the accounts department with processing supplier payments
  • Weekly KPI’s
  • Credit Control - chasing customers via email/telephone
  • Purchase Ledger processing, statement reconciliations and query resolution
  • Raise sales invoices, posting payments to the system
  • Ideally you will have previous experience of dealing with Sage Payroll and Xero
  • Intermediate Excel skills would be highly advantageous

Person Specification:

  • Ideally AAT qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification
  • Hands-on, enthusiastic and hard working
  • Happy to take on additional responsibilities over time
