Internal Quality Assurer (IQA)
Salary: 30,000 to 35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Cardiff
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to join our team. As an IQA, you will lead, inspire, and support a team of Assessors to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment for all learners. You will ensure our Internal Quality Assurance processes meet rigorous standards, driving continuous improvement, learner satisfaction, and success rates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Motivate and develop a team of Assessors to enhance the quality of delivery across all learning programmes.
- Manage sampling and verification activities to ensure learner progression and achievement.
- Oversee standardisation meetings to share best practices across sectors.
- Embed literacy, numeracy, and cross-cutting themes (e.g., Safeguarding/Prevent, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety) throughout learning programmes.
- Ensure compliance with Awarding Organisation, Welsh Government, and Estyn requirements.
- Plan and conduct IQA observations and provide constructive feedback to Assessors.
- Support unqualified or underperforming Assessors to improve their grading and performance.
- Develop learning resources and materials tailored to a wide range of vocational and learning needs.
- Manage and coordinate EQA visits to ensure compliance and maintain high standards.
What We're Looking For:
Essential Criteria:
- Assessor and IQA qualifications.
- Relevant occupational competence.
- Proven experience delivering training and support.
- Full driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
- Strong knowledge of Apprenticeship programmes, IQA processes, and Awarding Organisation requirements.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding, Prevent, and Estyn Inspection requirements.
- IT literate with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to change.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience leading a team of IQAs.
- Previous involvement in an Estyn Inspection.
- Fluent Welsh speaker.
