Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a Production Supervisor in Cardiff.

The successful candidate will have experienced within Production, Manufacturing or Engineering within a supervisory, management or Team leader role. They are accountable for the team's Safety, as well as Quality control whilst maintaining high standards required by the customer. They will also be responsible for improving efficiency's, assisting in developing a Continuous Improvement culture, and owning and reporting on key department KPIs.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday only, 8.00am - 4.00pm, but this can be flexible i.e. 7am - 3pm 7.30am - 3.30pm

Production Supervisor Benefits:

  • Yearly 10% bonus (3800 based on this starting salary) that will rise as your salary rises year on year

Production Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor output to ensure targets are being met and delivery and customer service requirements are being satisfied
  • Provide manufacturing information by compiling and analysing production performance records and data; also answering questions and responding to requests
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications
  • Enforce standards of workplace organisation and housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
  • Establish and/or adjust Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to meet production, quality and H&S targets
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
  • Analyse and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workforce to achieve work goals
  • Ownership and reporting of all data reports and KPIs with target of on-going improvement
  • Manage employees in relation HR related activities i.e. holidays / absence / lateness
  • Conduct investigations and disciplinaries as and when required
  • Minimise labour costs when possible whilst achieving manufacturing needs
  • Responsible for following all company procedures and policies in line with our compliance management system and to report any concerns of noncompliance immediately
  • Responsibility for taking reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.
  • You must follow all instructions and training given to you and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures at all times

Production Supervisor Essential Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience within a Manufacturing, Production or Engineering Team Leader/ Supervisor position
  • Experience of managing team KPI's. sickness, annual leave and rota's
  • Competent numeracy and literacy skills - able to produce reports
  • Performance management, monitoring team's work
  • Good IT skills, including experience of using Microsoft programmes and SAP
  • A positive attitude towards continuous improvement
  • A willingness to be flexible regarding working hours
