Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen with my client who is a renowned and established Cardiff based company working within the Engineering sector.

Working within a niche market with interesting products, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow with the company. The main purpose of your role as Sales and Purchasing Assistant will be:

  • To provide excellent customer service to existing customers and develop new customers.
  • Procure manufacturing materials for workshop and process sales orders.
  • Assisting and working closely with the Section Manager together with shop floor members.

Your principal duties within this role will be formed of the below:

  • Developing spreadsheets and computerising the departments activities from order through to deliver/invoicing
  • Assisting Manager in Monthly stocktaking (involves physical presence on factory floor) and accurately transposing onto a spreadsheet
  • Engage with the introduction of on-line trade - maintaining database of materials & pricing
  • Ensure website is accurate, updated and orders are efficiently recorded (including on-line receipts / orders)
  • Proactive approach to attract new customers
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively, including labour, materials, and equipment, to maximize productivity and meet project requirements.
  • Monitor material deliveries and stock levels, ensuring availability while minimizing waste.
  • Assist in delivery of forecasts - managing logistics of what is made and sent out
  • Ensuring manual administration records are properly maintained

What you will need to be successful:

  • Strong communication skills with external parties - telephone enquiries, e-mails via website
  • Strong liaison attributes to establish a cohesive relationship with management and shop floor employees
  • Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Suite esp. Excel
  • Innovative - suggesting new ways to improve working methods and promoting the Company image
