Quantity Suveyor / Estimator

West Midlands

Upto £60,000 + benefits

Based out of their cardiff office, our client is looking to recruit a Construction Estimator, someone with experience pricing new build projects with large groundworks, Concrete, and steel packages.

Working closely with the Operations Director, and Project Manager , taking charge from initial enquiry through to bid submittal, attend interview and then onto procurement of subcontract packages upon successful award, before handing over.

Duties will include.

  • Production and co-ordination of all bid documentation.
  • Analysing tender documents and preparing package list for enquiries, preparing documents, and issuing subcontractor and material enquiries
  • Pricing traditional trades analytically from first principles including resource bills using materials and suppliers’ quotations.
  • Production and analysis of subcontractor comparisons
  • Pricing tender preliminaries
  • Co-ordinating all aspects of the tender pricing process, including presentation of tenders to Operations Director at the tender adjudication meetings
  • Completing detailed risk analysis schedules and liaising with the commercial manager of methods of incorporation into bids
  • Prepare Cost Plans from client's information.
  • Provide Cash Flow forecasts
  • Attendance at mid/post tender interviews with the Client team on bids under consideration
  • Production of handover documentation to Project Surveyors on successful bids

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate must have previous experience of working within civil engineering projects and possess the relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar.

  • BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management
  • HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management
  • A minimum of 3 years experience
