PLC Control Systems Engineer

This is a fast-growing company operating in the UK & Ireland and Europe with exciting growth and expansion plans. The main offices are in Tewkesbury and Wokingham with most of the workforce being mobile or remote.

Purpose of role:

To design, engineer, implement, test, commission and maintain control automation and monitoring projects of varying sizes and types, based around PLC products (Allen Bradley)

Duties:

  • Be responsible for interfacing between the bid team and the project delivery team. Provide input into Major Projects bid opportunities.
  • Be responsible for the design, engineering, implementation and FAT testing – this will include third party equipment interface testing.
  • Be responsible for supporting the on-site pre-commissioning and commissioning of control, automation and monitoring projects.
  • Be responsible for providing support to the Maintenance / Services team for projects that you have delivered.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that all design information is available, and that appropriate design documentation is completed, issued and approved.
  • Maintain accurate and timely communication with the ABEC Project Manager and Engineering team.
  • Ensure that all required drawings and factory / site test documentation packs are created, approved and ready for use.
  • Be responsible for ensuring tasks are accurately recorded on timesheets and complete expense claims on time.
  • Provide regular progress updates / engineer reports to project managers.
  • Ensure that all issues / snags / delays are recorded and communicated to the project managers.
