Despatch co-ordinator – Cardiff.

Salary: £34,200 P/A

we are recruiting a Despatch co-Ordinator for a well-established company, Due to continued expansion.

The Role:

Reporting to the Despatch Front Line Manager, you are responsible for managing and monitoring safety, performance and compliance tasks within the Despatch department, supporting the safe receipt, handling and distribution of all goods in accordance with all legal and company

The main duties of the roles will be: -

  • Input and monitor all hazard reporting with trending feedback to FLM's in Despatch.
  • Take a lead role in the delivery of workplace audits supporting the ‘Safety First' message.
  • Take direct ownership for allocation of tasks to the operative workforce, making the best use of company WMS and labour flexibility
  • Effective time management to deliver 25% of daily activity working on tasks, 75% in supervisory capacity.
  • Develop Operatives who reflect the Company's Values and who possess the necessary
  • knowledge, skills, attitudes and qualifications to perform.
  • Ensure agency management is first class with timesheet collation and payroll systems.
  • Support the Despatch department's order fill, cost and efficiency KPI's by making best use of the company WMS.
  • Ensure that any service and stock issues arising are addressed promptly and where appropriate, escalated, as required.
  • Support FLM's with the delivery of the ‘Safety First' message.
  • Build and develop effective relationships with other teams on site to ensure cross functional working and the optimal performance of the function is achieved.
  • Provide management cover for the FLM in their absence; demonstrating the ability and willingness to develop the skills and knowledge required to progress in their career..

About you:

  • Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Previous experience in comparable blue chip, FMCG role
  • PC literate, including a working ability with Excel
  • spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Word; capable of using
  • Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
