- Salary £40 to £45k negotiable plus up to 20% bonus. We’re keen to reward our managers when they get things right because doing well is important to us.
- Our Management Bonus Scheme takes into consideration a range of KPIs from inspections, audits, staffing, finances, training, annual leave, sickness and more. Meeting targets in all these areas will result in a performance bonus. The better you do the bigger your bonus.
Qualifications for Service Manager
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care
- Level 3 in Health & Social Care
Requirements of Service Manager
- The ability to register as a manager with Social Care Wales.
- At least 2 years in a relevant position and 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
- A proactive mindset and strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A 'can-do’ attitude, resilience, and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies and experience in crisis management.
- The flexibility to work Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm, with occasional on-call and shift cover responsibilities.
Responsibilities of Service Manager
- Staff Management: Oversee recruitment, deployment, and management of staff.
- Service Delivery: Ensure high-quality care and evidence-based outcomes for young people.
- Compliance: Maintain regulatory and statutory compliance.
- Team Leadership: Support and manage the senior management team.
- Budget Management: Operate within budget and achieve high inspection ratings.
- Strategic Planning: Work on forward vision and strategic planning with the Regional Director.
- Quality Assurance: Audit care provision quality.
- Child-Centred Care: Ensure detailed assessments and care plans.
- Effective Communication: Foster teamwork and maintain productive meetings.
- Partnership Building: Develop relationships with authorities and professionals.
- Business Planning: Lead business planning and budget processes.
- Health & Safety: Ensure a safe environment and compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Performance Management: Induct, supervise, appraise, and develop staff.
- Financial Management: Maintain effective budgetary and petty cash systems.
- Service Development: Continuously review and develop the service plan.
- Staff Well-being: Support staff health, motivation, and engagement.
- Training Compliance: Ensure staff are trained and qualified.
- Incident Management: Investigate incidents and represent management on disciplinary panels.
- Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with childcare trends, legislation, and best practices.
