We are seeking Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team across Cardiff, we are able to offer flexibility with both Ad Hoc and Long term positions within Mainstream and SEN settings. Working with Reed to expand your classroom based experience we are able to support candidates who may have limited experience in the classroom or those who are further down their career. 

Your Reed team will work with you to find the right vacancies from the first contact. 

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of daily lessons alongside the lead teacher.
  • Support individual students or small groups to help them understand the material and complete their tasks.
  • Monitor and encourage student progress, providing feedback to teachers on their development.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
  • Participate in school meetings and events as required.
  • Prepare classroom resources and set up equipment as needed for lessons.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during non-classroom times, including lunch breaks and field trips.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role.
  • Strong understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport with students.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive approach to dealing with challenges.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, CACHE, or a degree in education are advantageous but not essential.
