anzuk education is seeking long term Special Educational Needs support within a classroom or specialised based unit as a 1:1 or small group basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, ensuring that their learning needs are met within the classroom.
  • Assist in the delivery of personalized learning plans under the guidance of the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement strategies that promote student engagement and progress.
  • Support students with emotional, behavioral, or social challenges, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Monitor and track progress, providing feedback on the effectiveness of interventions and supporting any required adjustments.
  • Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to ensure accessibility for all students.
  • Contribute to the overall development of SEN policies and practices within the school.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs or in a similar role is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible, responding to the individual needs of students.
  • Knowledge of SEN-related legislation and educational practices (e.g., EHCP, SEN support plans) would be an advantage.
  • A commitment to promoting an inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Level 2/3 qualification in Education or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 academic year experience within a classroom
