We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our established team in Cardiff. This role involves overseeing the efficient distribution of products from our quarries and plants to various regions, ensuring seamless communication across departments, and delivering exceptional service to our clients. You'll be joining a friendly, supportive team where collaboration and customer satisfaction are top priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for distribution-related inquiries, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
Process customer orders received via inbound calls and emails.
Facilitate clear communication across Logistics, Commercial, and Production teams to streamline operations.
Proactively track and monitor orders, ensuring they are completed as scheduled.
Address customer inquiries, manage complaints professionally, and maintain high service standards.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date customer information database.
Collaborate with team members to meet Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
Ensure full compliance with the Competition Act 1998.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience in Transport Planning: Knowledge of road haulage and distribution is preferred.
Construction & Transport Industry Knowledge: Beneficial but not essential.
Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills to manage client relations effectively.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data handling and proactive problem-solving abilities.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet competing deadlines, and anticipate potential challenges.
Computer Proficiency: Competent in using software systems relevant to transport and customer management.
