Are you ready to take the next step in your finance career? Our client, a leading manufacturing company based on the outskirts of Carlisle, is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their Finance Team as Assistant Financial Controller.

Your role will involve ensuring the visibility of costing-related situations, controlling variances, and delivering insightful analysis. Additionally, you will play a vital role in cost-saving improvement projects and contribute to the month-end process.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support on all CAPEX and Fixed Asset related activities
  • Proactively challenge assumptions to drive cost improvements
  • Analyse and report factory costs on a monthly basis
  • Participate in business planning activities
  • Identify and drive cost improvement opportunities
  • Support the implementation of best practises for internal controls
  • Develop the factory's understanding of financial data
  • Deputise for the Factory Financial Controller as needed

What will make you successful?

  • Part or fully qualified Accountant (will consider QBE)
  • Experience in Finance, preferably within a manufacturing industry
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to suggest new ways of working
  • Strong attention to detail with an understanding of how decisions impact business strategy
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels
  • Flexibility when prioritising work in an often ambiguous environment
  • Results-oriented mindset and curiosity in all aspects of your work
