Senior Training Advisor - Electrical EngineeringLocation - CarlisleSalary: up to £36,661Hours: Monday - FridayType: PermanentMain Purpose of the role:To plan, deliver, and assess Apprentice training programmes within the subject area of Engineering and to assist in the marketing and development of sector specific Apprentice programmes to industry.Responsibilities:To show commitment to the College and its internal and external customers.Represent the College in a professional manner at all times.To respect colleagues and students at all times.Contribute to the College's annual Self-Assessment Report.Demonstrate commitment to College Policies including Health & Safety,Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity and Quality improvement.Participate in staff development activities as appropriate to the role.Assist colleagues and other Departmental Teams to ensure an efficient and effective cross- College service.Fully support the College Values at all times.To carry out Training Needs Analysis for Companies in relation to Apprenticeship and other training programmes.Draw up Individual and Group Learning Plans and to co-ordinate and lead on initial skills assessment for Apprenticeship and other training programmes.Liaise with College staff in the planning, delivery and assessment of the agreed training plan and to monitor progress of apprentices and groups of apprentices.Assess and review apprentices/trainees in accordance with internal and external requirements primarily in Engineering.Responsible for overseeing and reporting on performance of the learner journeyLead on quality assurance and quality improvements for apprenticeship and other programmes within the curriculum area, including liaison with awarding organisations and implementing quality improvement actions.To liaise with the Curriculum Team to co-ordinate the delivery and completion of all parts of the:Apprentice Framework including Functional Skills and Technical CertificateApprenticeship Standards including preparation for End Point AssessmentDeliver teaching and learning sessions as required by the needs of Apprenticeship or other training programmes.Deliver up to 170 hours teaching and training sessions in support of apprenticeship/curriculum related activities in Electrical Engineering . These hours can be extended due to operational needs.Assist the Business Development Manager in the promotion of such programmes.Assist with organisation/administration duties related to apprenticeship programmes.Undertake monitoring, evaluation and assessment procedures to support the progress and achievement of student learning.Assist with recruitment, enrolment and induction of Apprentice programmes.Maintain effective relationships between academic and support staff and provide a communication link between employers and department managers.Such other duties connected with the post as may reasonably be required.Undertake Health & Safety checks in the workplace and maintain records.Undertake 30 hours (pro-rata) continual professional development.This job description is current at the date shown but is subject to review according to changing circumstancesRequirements:Essential5 GCSE's (A-C) including English and Mathematics or equivalent Level 2 qualifications or be able to achieve with support within a set timescaleLevel 3 Qualification in a related vocational areaA2/A1 or equivalent qualifications or willing to work towardsRecent relevant industry experienceTeaching or Training experienceExperience of planning training for individuals and/or employersRecent experience of delivery of NVQ in a work place or College environmentHealth and Safety Risk AssessmentsDesirablePGCE / Cert Ed or Teaching qualification or willingness to work towardsA2/A1 or equivalent qualifications or willing to work towardsV1 qualification or willing to work towardsHealth and Safety qualificationsIAG related qualificationAdvanced practical/technical skillsSupervisory experienceAdministrative experience
