Job Title: Senior Property LawyerLocation: Carlisle plus Hybrid workingResponsible to: Managing DirectorReports to: Senior Conveyancing ManagerStandard hours of work: 35 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm)Basic Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 plus bonusYou will be responsible for managing your own caseload of sale and purchase matters, including leasehold, new build, and shared ownership transactions. There will be some element of supervising other team members and you will need to meet individual performance targets and ensure that business KPIs and SLAs are consistently achieved.SCOPE OF THE ROLEThis role is based within the Conveyancing Department, although there may be a requirement to assist in other areas of the business as needed. You will be a Senior fee earner working out of the Carlisle office. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/TASKS:* Manage a caseload of property transactions, with support from an assistant, ensuring caseload size is adjusted for seasonal variations and ongoing departmental reviews. * Ensure all team activities are completed within strict deadlines, adhering to KPIs and SLAs. * Achieve individual targets, including a set number of completions per month. * Participate in training sessions, 121s, performance reviews, and team meetings. * Maintain regular communication with clients via telephone, email, and in-person meetings. * Liaise with other solicitors and professionals through various forms of communication. * Keep all stakeholders, including panel members and referral businesses, updated on progress. * Ensure compliance with SLAs from referrers and meet the requirements of panel members. * Utilise the firm's bespoke case management system according to company protocols. * Act as a role model in file management, behavior, and actions for colleagues. * Deliver the highest level of client service at all times. * Perform other tasks as required by the Senior Conveyancing Manager or Senior Management Team. PERSON SPECIFICATIONEXPERIENCE:* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a conveyancing fee earner role (applications from more experienced candidates are also welcome). * Confident handling leasehold, new build, and shared ownership sale and purchase transactions. * Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines. * A strong track record in achieving personal targets and adhering to business KPIs and SLAs. * Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. * Thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates a proactive approach, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities. * Outstanding communication and client care skills. * High attention to detail and problem-solving capability. * A modern approach to conveyancing, particularly with a focus on process-driven, proactive, risk-based work. TECHNICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:* Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Proficient in IT, including Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, and Teams). * Experienced in using Case Management Systems, Land Registry Portal, Online SDLT, and updating panel websites. * Demonstrates technical expertise in conveyancing transactions and a solid understanding of anti-money laundering regulations, CQS requirements, and overall SRA compliance obligations.
